FSEM Update: 8/10/21

Hello all-

I know many of you are not around campus right now and are hopefully off enjoying summer, so I appreciate you checking email. As of yesterday, our FTFY student count was at 1664 registered and we have 89 FSEM’s running. AMAZING- it is going to be a great year!  Thank you all for your commitment to the program.  Best, Monica

Discoveries/Destinations Info

Orientation Leaders

The OL’s will not be coming to your FSEM classes from 9-10:15am, that will be time for only you and your class. The OL’s will be at all the other conference style activities and the Discoveries meetings throughout the week. Please plan accordingly.

One question that has come up is who will teach FTFY students how to register going forward?  This year the Office of Academic Advising and the advising staff in various colleges reached out to new students before SURG to answer questions and walk them thorough the process. They have all been exposed to how it works- FYI.

Destinations Plans:

We are in the final stages of Destination confirmations and getting ready to buy tickets.  Remember there are no bus rentals this year and everything must be accessible by RTD– using your ECO pass. Mask are required on RTD so please remember to let your group know before leaving on Friday.   RTD is also on a limited schedule so please check the trip planner here.

As you all know by now, we are offering on-campus options this year for those of you who want to have an easy option for your class or are concerned about the delta variant and want to stay in our community. You can do one or several with your class as a whole. We will send a group email later this week to everyone interested in on-campus options next week to get you all signed up, so we don’t have crowding at any one indoor location.

Finally, we have been made aware that students will be tested as they arrive on campus and must receive a negative spit test result to begin going to activities/classes on campus.  This could affect your Tuesday morning FSEM meeting at 9am.  We will keep you updated as we receive more info!
