- Our guest presenter for this Friday’s workshop had to cancel unexpectedly due to a family emergency. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working with OTL to reschedule. In the meantime, the Faculty Institute for Inclusive Teaching (FIIT) is available on Canvas and contains a host of inclusive teaching resources.
- As noted previously, Discoveries FSEM sessions will take place from 9-10:30 on Thursday and Friday of Discoveries week (September 10 & 11). If you haven’t already, please register your return-to-work day in PioneerWeb and begin your two-week quarantine period by Thursday, August 27th (tomorrow). Please remember to generate Zoom links for these meetings and send them to Grace Warner at Grace.Warner@du.edu
- The Discoveries logistics workshop on Wednesday, September 2 (10am-12:00pm), will provide the most current information on student orientation. Attending faculty will be compensated $150.
- Finally, please complete the self-paced advising course in advance of the Sept. 3rd Advising Training session (10am-12:00pm). See additional course information below.
You are invited to the 2020-2021 Undergraduate Academic Advisor Training online course. As the only structured service on campus that provides the opportunity for ongoing, on-on-one contact with a caring and concerned representative of the University, your work as advisors could not be more important at this time of great uncertainty and change.
This course is one of the first projects we’ve completed to better support our predominantly faculty advising model, and we plan to develop additional supports in the coming months and years. We’d love feedback as we roll out additional supports.
We anticipate that completion of this course will take around 2 hours and are able to pay a $150 stipend for completion of the course and a short synchronous Zoom workshop later in the Fall. (Note: FSEM faculty have already been invited to a follow-up workshop on Thursday, September 3. Details about additional follow up workshops coming soon!).
