Thank you to all who were able to attend our 2019 FSEM Faculty Training this year!
We are excited to kick off another Discoveries Orientation next week, and appreciate all of your flexibility in navigating all of the changes that have taken place or will take place this year. As a reminder, this year is PHASE 1 of intentionally redesigning and re-envisioning the purpose, process, and program of orientation. As such, please approach next week with a spirit of adaptability and know that we will absolutely be gathering constructive feedback and thoughts on how to improve this experience for students, faculty, and staff next year.
Read below for a number of Discoveries updates and reminders:

Check for Roster Changes!
Please double-check your FSEM rosters EACH morning of Discoveries, as there is the possibility of schedule changes throughout the week.
As a reminder, please take attendance at each FSEM Session and send the names of any missing students to Leah O’Grady (leah.ogrady@du.edu).

Lunch Schedule & Logistics
- You asked, we listened: our team has been working with Campus Life on restructuring the FSEM lunch logistics on Wednesday. The dining locations will offer buffet lines and compostable carry-out trays for lunch, so you and your students can grab lunch and head to another location on campus (or you can stay and eat).
- Your Orientation Leader will have your lunch tickets for both Wednesday and Friday (students will meal plans will swipe in with their student ID).
- Due to shifting logistics, your lunch schedule and/or location HAVE CHANGED – please see the updated document below:

Destinations Updates
If there are any final details that need to be addressed for your Destinations trip on Thursday, September 5th, please contact Grace Warner (grace.warner@du.edu) as soon as possible. If applicable, bus confirmations will be emailed out by the end of this week.

Contact Academic Programs if you’re unable to lead an FSEM session!
As we move into Discoveries week, there are always circumstances that arise beyond our control. If you are unexpectedly unable to lead your session on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, please reach out to Leah O’Grady immediately so that we can ensure we have a Plan b option in place.
Please do NOT ask your Orientation Leader to lead your class during this time.
